Hi Mike,

Thanks for the listing. However, the Sea King 3 XZ588 was not coded. It has an allocated code of D (not B) and there was no code on my photograph of the port side and I do not recall a code on the starboard side when it flew.

Hope this is of interest.

Regards,

David.

Thanks for that, I got the code from Mark's photo here (lower rear fuselage) :- viewtopic.php?f=19&t=86501
However, on closer inspection it appears that it's an aerial(?) with it's shadow.

Amended !

Thanks Mike, but there's mistakes in your log.

For instance :- Gnat T1 XS111 was written-off in 1976 and the one at Leuchars was really ex. XP504 and has the civil registration G-TIMM.

I'm afraid I was otherwise engaged at the time so the log will have to remain incomplete. Woe, woe and thrice woe........

 Esk 727/730 are Danish squadrons.

The Norwegians were from Bodo, which makes them either 331 or 332 Skv. The brown gooo all over the side of the twinstick is grease applied near the gunport to protect the aircraft skin during straifing exercises. Apparantly the aircraft was on the range earlier in the week and they didn't get time to clean it off .

Sorry this is late and I must warn you I've asked this question over on UKAR but when I saw this thread thought I should post here, The Typhoon which launched as Air Spare for the Red Arrows Opening Flypast with the Typhoons was that the same Typhoon which performed the Closing Sunset Flypast with the Tornado GR.4 if so where did it disappear to for the hours in between - thought it may have gone to Lossie maybe? Also although I have only seen it on You Tube were the 2 Typhoons which parked up for the Sunset Ceremony the same 2 which had earlier performed the E-3 Sentry/ Role Demo Sequence - I had to leave just after the Typhoon/ Sentry Flypast and Red Arrows display.
