I use a Panasonic HC-V520, cost about £250 a couple of years ago. Great auto focus and powerful zoom.
A couple of examples of its capability

I have an Hitachi DV 1079e full HD videocam 10X optical zoom which is around 300mm on my lens with no degradation
Does Youtube out the box too they are around a £150 on ebay now if you can get them, they don't come up often as they get snapped up quick when they do

If it doesn't have a viewfinder avoid it because trying to capture action shots with flat screen monitor can be a nightmare - getting a good video record of a subject can be difficult enough without adding to you're problems!

Keep away from burst mode togs, the click click click of their cameras is annoying when you are filming.
