1948 RAF Duxford Trophy

Post by creaky » Mon Feb 10, 2025 5:09 pm

Hello everyone, ive owned a small silver plate trophy cup for a few years and would be interested to learn more about it. It reads 'Victor Ludorum - RAF - Duxford - 1948'

Obviously it was presented to a winner of something or other, but I would love to know who won it and what for.

Thanks for any help or information

From Google :- "Victor ludorum (or victrix ludorum) is Latin for "the winner of the games". It is usually a trophy presented to the most successful team, club, or competitor at a sports event. It is common at rowing regattas and was traditional at some British state and public school sports days."

The annual sports day maybe?
