It has been brought to my attention that there is a very real possibility that the area around the old RAF control tower at Newquay could be fenced off and become totally out of reach to photographers. This is because people have been observed climbing up the (fenced off) steps to to the entrance to the old met office in the tower, and also climbing on top of the "temporary" building near the fence overlooking the AgustaWestland apron. The airport management is concerned about possible accidents and the consequences (i.e. 'elf & safety). It is suggested that stepladders will be tolerated so long as they are not rested against or otherwise touching the airport fences. The area is directly overlooked by the fire section watch building...
I'm sure we would all agree that it would be a disaster if we lost free access to this area. Please resist the temptation to go climbing (or do anything else that might put access to that area at risk!)
Thank you - please pass this message on if you know anyone that visits Newquay who is not on the R26 forum.

Said I would pass this on.
Re: Newquay airport spotting notice. .local spotters please
I would hazard a guess it isn't the local spotters that need telling...
