Re: Stansted June 2022
Apparently 99-0003 USAF C-32b 757 which arrived on the 31st as SAM899 is still parked at STN. If I hear when its going over the holiday weekend I will post it up.
Re: Stansted June 2022
The USAF 757 will depart 8am today.
This evening there should be a UAE 330 MRTT in at 4pm and out 10am tomorrow if rumour is correct.

Re: Stansted June 2022
I was at STN twice yesterday (early AM until 11am and then 14.30 -19.00) but didn't see it anywhere and we walked the northern boundary from the Ash Pub walk mid morning so not sure where it's parked - if it's still there it's well hidden!

It definitely left Stansted at 8am this morning as SAM899 and can be seen departing on FR24 playback (at 7am Zulu). Its currently over Sweden.

Re: Stansted June 2022
yes, it departed right over my house!
It was reported on logs at Stansted yesterday but I've no idea where it was parked, it must have been on the business ramp in front of Harrods with even the tail hidden - normally a tail that tall would just be visible. There was a civilian 757 outside Inflites but nothing else with a tail that high (apart from the Dubai 747 right next to the north fence which was rather nice for photos).
never mind, I was just hoping nobody would go over for it and not be able to see it. At least I got a good pic of the Canadian CC144 as it arrived.

Years ago, I cruised the perimeter to view a rare NASA aircraft that had apparently just arrived (I forget which). I couldn't see it anywhere, so rang my contact and took the proverbial about him giving me duff info and having a wasted journey. Turns out he was standing at the top of the air stairs and about to go into the cockpit !!!
Aircraft can hide themselves up there.

Oh, and the UAF 330 MRTT arrival has apparently moved forward to 14:40 Local today. Reg 1302 I believe. I may go up for a look as its a day off.

Re: Stansted June 2022
they can hide now that the business park is off limits but normally a tall tail is visible if nothing else. I assume it was north side and not over on the cargo / Alpha stands. I didn't stop at Belmer to look over that side, it was parked there yesterday afternoon.Pesmog wrote: ↑Fri Jun 03, 2022 9:42 amYears ago, I cruised the perimeter to view a rare NASA aircraft that had apparently just arrived (I forget which). Re: Stansted June 2022
The UAE MRTT should be viewable from near The Ash, as while I was up there watching it land they said over the radio that it was going to stand 510 which I think can be seen from that area.
Someone watching this thread texted me to say that the USAF 757 was parked outside Harrods.

thanks - I also got a response saying the same on the Stansted google group - maybe it turned stealthy!Pesmog wrote: ↑Fri Jun 03, 2022 3:30 pmThe UAE MRTT should be viewable from near The Ash, as while I was up there watching it land they said over the radio that it was going to stand 510 which I think can be seen from that area.

Hi guys. Is the A330 still in? Just landed and looked like a 707 type from a quick glimpse but didn't see the tail.

Also note if it was the A330 it probably wouldnt be viewable from the VIP area. Parallel to the runway.Van Bullitt wrote: ↑Fri Jun 03, 2022 11:23 pmHi guys. Is the A330 still in? Just landed and looked like a 707 type from a quick glimpse but didn't see the tail.

Hi Andy.
Was the Dubai 747 the same one that was in on Monday morning 30th May?
I guess so from the parking position but I can't see the number reported anywhere. Do you have it please?
Cheers Paul

Re: Stansted June 2022
I believe there may actually have been two Dubai 747's visiting;
Dubai Air Wing A6-HRM left last night at 21:00 local
Dubai Air Wing A6-COM was also at STN this morning for a quick stop.
Wiki describes Dubai air wing as 'paramilitary' so I guess they pass muster for inclusion here

Re: Stansted June 2022
Thanks mate.
They are in Ian Carrolls mil book and I do mil only and collect em so I class them as mil even though they have dirty civil regs on But then so do most of the Moroccan air force! I saw the 747 Monday 8am so do you know which it was then? 30th May.
Cheers Paul

Re: Stansted June 2022
Sorry no, I don't know the answer to that. Hopefully someone else here will know.
I have just been told that a second CAF Challenger could be visiting tomorrow pm. I don't have any more details. That would mean two on the ground at the same time if it arrives. I believe the current parked one may not move 'til Monday if the gossip is correct.

Re: Stansted June 2022
A6-HRM was recorded on the Stansted google group as arriving on 24-05-2022 and departing on 31-05-2022 at 12.14 (not sure if that time is Z or BST, I would guess at Z) so that would be your aircraft. The other one (A6-COM) hasn't been noted at all during that time.Van Bullitt wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 6:39 pmThanks mate.

There is also the ex Dubai Air Wing one at the diamond hangar (A6-MMM from memory) which has been there for a long while now but if your frame was northside it wouldn't be that.
The government flight registrations are a bit of a grey area, some are clearly military but others not so and some carry dual registrations - all set to try to confuse and test us. Even our UK government tries to confuse us with the United kingdom A330 carrying a military registration (ZZ336) and the A321 a civil one but both carry out similar duties at least part of the time.

Cheers Andy.
I'll add it to the log.
Just like the Russian An-124s and others pretending to be civil but used by the military.
Thanks

Re: Stansted June 2022
The ex Dubai air wing 747 at the diamond hangar is TF-AMH and was formerly A6-HMM. I was told by someone reliable that A6-MMM which was at STN (mentioned above) is apparently away on maintenance. It all gets a bit confusing, so hopefully I have this correct
The aforementioned CAF Challenger arriving later today should come in about 18:00'ish local. I believe its only here for a splash and dash, so may be around for an hour max.
The other one CFC3701 that's been parked up for a few days should be leaving Monday at some point.
