I appreciate the runway is closed, doesn't stop ground movements or the hangar being open which was the nature of the request.

Wonder if going for a mission or returning to the states.

Just checked from my window looking down on Fairford.
129 indeed is outside, other two hangars are currently closed, but will keep checking and report if any change.

With the runway closed it isn't going anywhere - though I suppose a NOTAM could yet be raised for this evening.

One other thought - which I haven't researched - is that surely the guys who brought them in during the night are still currently out of hours? So unless there are any spare crews there...??

I'd imagine a spare crew or two may have been brought over on the 747 last week.

I would also imagine another fresh NOTAM

Most likely tonight or in the next few hours. Would doubt it would return to the states as a lot of personal deployed out for three arrivals and three departures but anything can happen.
Rumours are circulating that they are deployed for a month for a NATO training excercise however how true this is I do not know.

Press conference at Fairford on Friday, imagine further information will emerge from that.

82-1068 sat outside next to 129 in sunshine with lots of ground crew about. Hangar doors behind are closed.

Just checked no Notam yet for any movements later. Maybe they have got them out of the hangar to give them a quick wash! :-)

There is a short video on dod.defence.gov>news>special reports that talks about the B2 deployment and working with the RAF. It is planned that B2''s and F35's will be flying together.

Can I ask people to use the following thread to track the B-52

viewtopic.php?f=342&p=1116956&sid=6b94f ... d#p1116956

Last night the B-2s should have had their own thread because that thread became a nightmare to keep up with
