Thanks for the heads up, all. I went to have a look, knowing the chances of seeing a U2 from Birmingham are quite slim but I thought I may as well give it a go as I'd seen Boris despite there being clouds. Sure enough, I managed to get a pic of it banking and trailing at 17:01.

Indeed. I hadn't seen the post about it being north of Gloucester but that was posted at the same time I saw it and corrobates with the view that I can get. Not bad from near the centre of Birmingham, it was a distant view and binos were needed but my photo shows its unmistakeable shape.
