So can't have achieved much on that sortie - was that RTB with an unserviceability or was it an airborne spare?

TWR just called closed on 246.35
At least whatever the issue is it wasn’t serious enough for 02 to return as well ,seems to have continued on with the misson 02.
At the end of the day they did the right thing to return they ain’t going to risk anything...best to have it checked over on the ground when home safe

Might just be a mission capability issue, rather than flight safety.

But like they say, it's better to be on the ground wishing you were airborne, than to be airborne wishing you were on the ground.... :roll:

Each time he changed freqs when returning he called 'Javelin 01 emergency' & with full emergency services attending landing there was clearly an 'issue'.

Strange that NATS UK and the Defense Internet NOTAM Service both had two different FAIRFORD MIL ATZ ACTIVE notices! Obviously the one created at 13:28 Zulu is the current one.
