Departures or engine testing?

I'm a few miles from the airfield, but been hearing lots of engine noise for the last 15 mins or so. Is it coming from Fairford?

I must be about 6 or 7 miles away as the crow flies and I can hear it, so must be so loud for the locals! I worry about talking too loud at night when I come back from the pub

I live very near to the airfield and we heard the engines over two nights. Yes it was a bit annoying BUT they need to fix things and I chose to live near an airbase! Having only been here for 6 months I'm very excited about the air tattoo. Apart from the traffic!.
