Will all the B1s & B52s fly on the same day before the exercise finishes ?

Can anyone just confirm that both Bones and both Buffs are on the ground as of this evening, Saturday 2/9. Thinking about a trip down form Manchester tomorrow morning.

Thanks

Barry

Hi Guys,
I have day off on Tuesday, if anyone can answer this please, any info' on Tuesday flying schedule or do I just check the Czech website, and if that says there is going to be B1, B52 , U2 involvement, how do we extrapolate times to aircraft leaving/returning Fairford.
Hope this makes sense.
Cheers
Pune.
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Hi Pune,

I'm afraid that you will just have to check the website - either late Monday evening or Tuesday morning. Note that it will not show anything about any U-2 movements. Previous U-2 movements (Saturday/Thursday) have shown departure around 07.45 - 08.00 and return about 16.15.

If, as it has been so far, the bomber's arrival time over the exercise area is shown as 13.00CEST, then you are looking at any B-52s probably leaving around 09.30BST, and any B-1s probably leaving about 10.30BST. I would not like to say when they would arrive back, but Monday's B-52 was back at 15.30 and Tuesday's/Thursday's B-1s were back around 16.00 or just before.

Hope that this helps,

Bob

The B-1s and B-52s are deployed for more than the European exercises and air shows, while Fairford is only supporting the exercises with the deployed B-1s and B-52s - apparently, unless something has changed. :thumb:

I don't think it's the first time the USAF have deployed other aircraft to Fairford, separately to those designated for an exercise. Such as the current U2 and maybe the second B-52. Like the B-2’s earlier this year.

Ah thanks for ckearing that up for me, i did wonder why they moved a U2 further away from their normal operating area and it headed up over Scotland!

Thanks. Much appreciated for that information. This really is a friendly and helpful forum. They were low enough not to be civil and loud enough to be millitary. Quite impressive to see two in formation!

Over Northampton they probably would have been about FL100 as I heard them descend to FL60 after leaving 252.875 and changing to 127.25 at 1537L
