My guess would be some sort of transport to pick up kit following the B1 deployment, or a charter passenger aircraft to pick up the people. We'll have to wait and see!

Flightaware gave the following "U.S. TRANSPORTATION COMMAND #516 arrived at RAF Fairford (FFD) at 06:28PM GMT from Nuremberg (NUE)"

Back tracking the aircraft movements on FlightAware (using Reg. number), looks like Kelly Field Annex (AFB) in Texas late last night to Bangor. Then into Nuremberg this morning, then to Fairford. All time estimates GMT

Layout of CMB 516 - B767 - N378AX (hex A45199) is principally passenger. From photo's and airline spec.

need someone who has heard initial tower comms as he should have declared PoB at some point. This would give an indication as to arrivals or departures (of people)

Called up only with c/s, did not get a POB figure ,it was a empty 767 .
Hope this helps :)

I was at 27 end for the departure just now (didnt see anyone else there!). I didn’t hear PoB on my scanner at any point, but can say they were definitely picking up as saw bus after bus of people getting on.

CMB 516 - B767
Is due to depart Bangor in a few minutes, direct Dyess AFB, Texas (from FlightAware Tracker).
So presumably B1-B personnel returning.
