Re: B-52 Deployment info
The first lots of personal are leaving early Saturday morning with the rest leaving next week, so it looks like the buffs will be leaving soon.
Re: B-52 Deployment info
Should we expect any transports e.g. C5 or C17 towards the end of the week in this case?
Re: B-52 Deployment info
I guess we should, someone 'in the know' is sure to post info'..IMarsh wrote:Should we expect any transports e.g. C5 or C17 towards the end of the week in this case?

If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Not mentioned anywhere but 2 Buffs passed Yeovilton around 16:00 local heading north probably to Fairford, at around 5000 ft.

Thanks. Looked here and in OTT but missed the movements page.
Re: B-52 Deployment info
Sounded like they were heading for home this morning, departed at 11:30 ...

Re: B-52 Deployment info
Er no they weren't, 3 went out, 3 came back! All 4 still there.

Re: B-52 Deployment info
Sorry to ask the obvious question, does anyone have an idea when they will depart? This weekend is my only chance to see this deployment. Many thanks in advance.
Re: B-52 Deployment info
I see the same question from others, but can anyone confirm if they are still there today Saturday 27/1 and if they are expected to be there tomorrow Sunday as that is also my only chance to get down for them.
Thanks
Barry
Thanks

Re: B-52 Deployment info

Thanks Mark
Looks like I will have to gamble tomorrow. Do any of our NOTAM experts know if the runway is operational tomorrow ?
Thanks

Re: B-52 Deployment info
The last time bombers redeployed to the States on a weekend was on Sun 21 June'16 when 2 MT's departed Fairford for Minot. The 3rd a/c broke and followed the next day.
Re: B-52 Deployment info
Think you mean 2015 Graham.I remember the following day well-when I arrived in the morning there were about 10? ground crew lined up on the left wing manhandling a 'barndoor' into position:the plane took off a couple? of hours later.

Re: B-52 Deployment info
I see there are on NOTAM's for today (yet) so I'm guessing the 4 are staying put for another day. Anyone out there have any intel as to when they are likely to leave?
