Has anyone got any info on what Sovereign Skies is all about? I can't find anything on line about it. I've tried the USAF and MOD websites with no joy.

Sovereign Skies isn't specific to this B-52 deployment. Basically, its a USAFE/AF Africa term which means NATO airspace is sovereign and the US is commited to defending it.

Does anyone know how long the deployment is running for?

I'm thinking I might do a trip up to Fairford next week in the hopes of catching them flying, it's a 4hour round trip for me so don't want to waste my time if they up sticks prior to me going!

Not seen anywhere that this Fairford deployment has a specific name probably has though!

Give this Monday a miss as it's Martin Luther King day and a US national holiday that the USAF usually observe, at least in so far as generally a "no fly" day. I would also give weekends a miss unless we see they are flying weekends. Doesn’t look they are this weekend, but it is extended by the holiday Monday.

The deployment has been suggested by members as lasting 3 to 4 weeks, seems to vary a bit depending on the author.
