It’s a long NOTAM so perhaps they’re on nights.

An observation - looking at the B1 flights since they arrived (excluding the arrival days), one or more B1s have flown on 7 odd numbered dates and only 1 even numbered date. So based on historic statistics, they are perhaps seven times more likely to fly tomorrow than today?
Maybe the USAFs contribution to reducing global emissions could be to publish expected flying training days from Fairford so that us 'spotters' can save wasting time and fuel travelling for no reason. It would also reduce the inevitable impact on the local population and area of many visitors descending on the base on speculative trips. I can't see it happening somehow, but you never know, somebody in the USAF might be reading this?
There was a tantalising glimpse of what appeared to be a flying rota on a crew room door at Fairford on one of the deployment films I put a link up to - sadly no amount of freezing and zooming made it readable. They never have such problems in films!
Steve.😊👍
They won’t publish flying times due to operational security reasons.

Any signs of movement around the bombers?

“Spotters” will travel regardless of exhaust emissions or what the locals think around airfields, simply to get a photo of a plane not yet seen, why would the Pentagon care about what you choose to do outside the fence? nobody forces anyone to drive distances to take photos of planes, it’s your choice to waste time and fuel and it’s a choice not to do so in order to save fuel and time!

Don't forget that the KC-135s may well fly during the evenings, which could explain the long NOTAM.

I've heard it all now, 'Maybe the USAFs contribution to reducing global emissions could be to publish expected flying training days from Fairford so that us 'spotters' can save wasting time and fuel travelling for no reason'... Surely you are winding us up?

It's meant to be 'tongue in cheek' and jokey comment and I have no wish to wind up or offend anybody who doesn't get that or thinks that any of the above is meant to be a serious suggestion! On the other hand I reckon it's as good as anything that COP26 will propose and probably more likely to be achievable?
