495th are getting 24. If the 493d are getting the same amount...then 48 I guess!
Did you know that registration to Fighter Control is completely free and brings you lots of added features? Find out more....

RAF Lakenheath, UK -- The Air Force is preparing to station its first permanent F-35 squadrons in the UK, and planners are already looking to a sister service for insights on how to train and operate in new ways with European allies.
In 2021, the first of roughly 54 F-35As is set to land here, about 80 miles northeast of London. Construction is underway on two hangars and a six-bay simulator, as well as other infrastructure for training and maintenance on the stealth fighter. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the planes' planned November arrival is still on schedule, Lt. Col. Derek "Ajax" Syswerda, director of staff for the 48th Fighter Wing, said in an interview this month.

Re: The First F-35's
I was watching 2 F35's depart Lakenheath today and noted that they did not stop at the LCP. The F15's all have checks and pins removed prior to flight at this point, so don't the F35's need that done?

Re: The First F-35's
I've not been so can't confirm, but I would think as there are currently only 4 F-35s on base the last chance checks are done just before they taxi, rather than having a few F35 crew chiefs waiting at the last chance post?

Re: The First F-35's
Currently scheduled for 2/3/22 according to 48FW link i'd seen. On a side note am I right in thinking 19-5474 still hasn't flown since arriving, and the other 3 all have?

Re: The First F-35's
Is that 2nd March or 3rd February given that it came from a US source and they put month first?
Re: The First F-35's
It's definitely published as March 2nd 2022. I have it saved on my phone but I don't know how to upload on here
It came via FB and is titled "48 FW Important Dates" It also incorporates family dates, holidays etc.

Hi
19-5474 flew twice on Thursday 13/1 or was it Wednesday 12th - the days merge up when you are retired
