Re: SJ at the heath
I think there are still only 13 of the 15 there. Unless I missed the posts of their arrival.Raptor22 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 22, 2021 6:29 pmHi guys and girls can I ask a couple of questions please I've read through the posts and understand were the SJs are parked so firstly are they all here now and secondly are they still in the same parking spots as reported on thursday 18th and viewable I can only get down in the evening so any information on were they are will be greatly appreciated thanks raptor22

Re: SJ at the heath
Does anyone know if any/all of the SJ's are parked out on the aprons and possible to view from the hill at the Western end? Hoping the 400 mile round trip would be worth it. Thanks.
Re: SJ at the heath

Re: SJ at the heath
Thanks for the steer. Would be interested to read what/where you find them if you do get to visit. Cheers.

Re: SJ at the heath
Does anyone know if all the kit that the C17’s are hauling back from Larissa to Lakenheath is LN equipment left there after their deployment earlier this year or SJ equipment. That might give an indication of how long they are planning to stay.
Re: SJ at the heath
Just passing hi so went last night horrible weather went to maidscross couldnt see any f15s on victor pad at all also none by new f35 hangar looking from bank/field bit of a walk you can see numerous f15s definitely some SJ I think by the look of how many were on Alpha pad they have moved them all to that location which makes more sense than to have them here and there also can see c17 from carpark it's by tower hope that's some help I'm sure locals know much more than me hopefully someone will visit today and post

Re: SJ at the heath
I had brisk morning walk along the fence up on the Warren and I could see the usual line of LN F-15E but I didn't notice any SJ Eagles. I walked past the kissing gate towards the 06 end and planned to go around to the 06 arrival end but gave up due to wind and freezing rain.
About 100M west of the kissing gate towards 06 I noticed through the now naked trees you can see the preseved F-15 , Spitfire plus I think a F-111 and another canopy ( Phantom?) to the left of the Eagle

Re: SJ at the heath
Hi slogan51 may I ask as your local and know much more than me I was wondering why they leave home based Eagles outside surly theres enough hangars for them especially in this weather were you able to see victor pad if so and no SJ Eagles would I be right in assuming they had been moved to Alpha pad with the others like I said last night I was on the bank on main road and there were loads of Eagles definitely could see green tail bands and yellow tail bands plus red I did see LN red tail band but only a few which looked to be on right of Alpha pad thanks for your post hopefully someone will brave it tomorrow and look over Alpha pad and post

Re: SJ at the heath
Hi
I agree I couldn't see any eagles on the victor HAS ramp. Unfortunately I don't have time this morning to walk the A1065 but if you go far enough down (south) towards the new gate you should be able to read off the SJ or at least count them although 14 eagle tails could be tricky.
Back in the day over in CONUS before sun shelters aircraft could be outside for their entire service life , apart from maintenance. I assume the Phantoms at Lakenheath were always outside - you could log 40-50 just by walking the fence on a weekend.

Re: SJ at the heath
On my first visit to Lakenheath the F111s were also outside in pens, a weekend walk of the fence produced 50+. This was just before the shelters were completed.slogen51 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 28, 2021 8:50 amHi
