Post by Castic » Mon Feb 05, 2024 10:26 am

Have decided to take the plunge into the world of HF, Have head crews from MIldenhall switch to HF radio, does anyone have a list of HF frequencies they wish to share? have found some on the internet but they are as good as 15 years minimum

Very little in the use of HF at Mildenhall. The tankers will use 6761 which is a global USAF A/A frequency but these days they rarely use it and will use Satcom instead.
Some USAF aircraft will also do a radio check on 11175 which is the primary HFGCS frequency but again very little heard here in Europe apart from the odd EAM transmission.

Your more likely to hear traffic when they go oceanic via Shanwick, Gander, Santa Maria etc
Doc here of most the frequencies used https://www.icao.int/EURNAT/EUR%20and%2 ... 0_2015.pdf
HF/VHF/UHF/SATCOM/ACARS

Sadly I half expected that answer, I do have the oceanic frequencies already and just wondered if it was. Thanks for the reply
