Hi Steve,
We read codes 007,009,012 & 014 under the eastern sunshades on the morning of Tuesday 8.3.22.
Freeman
It’s not what you look at that matters. It’s what you see.

I noted ZM143/009 flying as Doom 12 on 26-11-2021 but it certainly seems to be in maintenance now - not noted in 2022

Seeing as ZM152 was still in one piece albeit a bit damp, do we know where the airframe is now? UK or US?

ZM162 has been seen flying at Fort Worth during July, so the next batch looks to be getting ready for delivery later this year.

No two days are the same, with 617 coming back from the carrier there may be a lull whilst checks are done on those jets before the Christmas shutdown.

Have the Dambusters returned already?

We heard Ghost 13 on approach

On my last two visits I saw 8 jets depart to HMSQNLZ and the next time I visited there was 6 207Sqn departures in the morning from 4 different jets

Heard Ghost 31/32 quite late on yesterday so hopefully all back at Marham by now

There are 24 F-35B at Marham three more than at Lakenheath so it should be quite busy you would think.

Be interesting to know how much it costs to put up the respective F-35s

Bearing in mind the jets are a fixed asset and the wages are paid anyway? The marginal cost is fuel and perhaps sundries like ATC etc

I accept that the lifetime of the Aircraft can be divided into flying hours and gives you a theoretical cost per hour but that only works if the asset doesn't become obsolete so in my opinion they should fly them while they can and they have a useful life

The RAF spend as much as 60 to 70% of their flying synthetically from speaking with some of the crews recently, that paired with the recent reports of more jets than pilots could help point to the reason why the RAF don't fly as much as the LN 35s do. Also the sim building for the LN birds is still an empty shell and some aren't even that yet so that could help point as to why they fly theirs more.
