Well past the originally stated first flight of July 2021. Wonder why the slippage and if they will fly this year.

I wonder why they went to Brize. Given it was a USAF C17 I would have expected them to go to Mildenhall as the previous two did and then by road to Wattisham, eventually. Maybe these new arrivals will go to Middle Wallop to found the training unit.
The majority of AAC AH-64E deliveries have been by USAF C-17.

With the CSP programme in full swing, thought we should update the UK Apache website http://ukapache.com/

Interesting that a Boscombe call sign was used.

Looking forward to hearing one as much as anything to find out if they sound any different from the others.

They DO sound a little different. It is difficult to describe in words, but slightly less "agricultural" perhaps?

I'd have thought they will all be routed through the main (maintenance and operational) base, Wattisham. There they will be reassembled, brought up to the required mod standard (if needed) tested and flown before being dispatched to another base.

It only flew inside the airfield boundaries, it was NOT transmitting Mode-S.

Sounds like flying will be ramped up in the coming weeks according to FlightGlobal

https://www.flightglobal.com/helicopter ... 08.article

' expects the first AH-64E will be joined by additional examples in flight testing over the coming weeks.'
“We have one flying right now but there will be a real increase over the next six weeks,” he says, followed by a “continued incremental ramp-up” as more helicopters come on line.

A total of 32 AH-64Es will be stationed at Wattisham, divided by between 3 and 4 Regiments AAC and their respective 662/663 and 664/656 Squadrons. Another 12 helicopters will be based at the Army Aviation Centre in Middle Wallop, Hampshire – split between 673 and 653 Sqns – with another six aircraft forecast to be in deep maintenance at any one time.
