I may be able to help you on this one, my cousin flew one into Waddington so it could well be that one. I know the owner was struggling to get it out of Waddington after the Airshow but had real problems with the weather as they have to fly visual. It could well be that one as I left Waddo on Wednesday and they were not getting it out that day. You probably didn't see it near enough but it had "Lincolnshire Poachers" written on the side but I can't quite remember the story behind it. I know my cousin flys out of Humberside and I think his aircraft are at Sturgate but I'm not sure which home the provost belongs to. I will post a picture of it at the Airshow although it won't be a good one as I didn't know he was flying in until after so had to go back through the hard drive to find a picture of it flying into the Airshow on the Friday.

Here are the photos of the Jet Provost I dug out, I believe there were three at the RAF Waddington International Airshow 2012 (Posh title)

Let me know if you want to know anymore as I could fire an email to my cousin and ask.

Thanks for the info VRS,

Could well be the same one although my sighting was a month back, too high to read anything on the side unfortunately. I guess it's path would stack up with Sturgate (N along Trent valley - poss Linton direction?). It was good to see one up above; they were a common sight above here a few years back :)

I'd be interested to know where it lives - I wasn't aware of one at Humbs.

Cheers
Al

Ah yes now I see the date of your post! I thought this was in the Waddington Forum and therefore a new post, but actually it's in the Lincolnshire one. I'm just getting to grips with the forum and this iPad app which makes things look totally different from the web browser version!

I'm just waiting for a text to see if the provost is going out as its STILL at Waddington. I will get some more info for you and reply soon.

They got the Provost out today, about 1600L. The Jet Provosts are based at Church Fenton. There are three pilots and my cousin is one. His own plane is at sandtoft and prior to that it was at Humberside. I imagine you will see them quite a bit in that area. They are owned by CENTURY AVIATION LTD. The one on the photos is the one that finally left today. It's civilian index is G-JPTV.
