Manchester Barton 15/03/2022

Post by Dr Yan » Tue Mar 15, 2022 2:48 pm

A visit to Barton at lunchtime found 3 x AS.365 Dauphins.
ZJ782 and ZJ783 were parked over at the Heliport, both were fitted with external rails over the doors possibly for Abseiling,
Both these had arrived Monday PM so could be involved with a night time exercise locally?
ZJ785 Landed at the Airport as Hammer 1 and after a quick change of crew departed as Hammer 27

Unclear if these are still present (although MSF had reference to a NOTAM valid until 2200 on Tuesday 16th), but the West-facing Barton webcam has a suspicious-looking black block obscuring the police apron at the heliport, which would suggest something is going on!

The webcam has obscured the police apron for a good few years and is simply to stop the local yobs knowing when the police helicopter is on the deck so they can't try and set it on fire (again).

Did not know that! That's quite a reflection on the youth of the Eccles/Irlam environs!
