Had the same overhead York about 15,000ft - various high energy passes then transit southwards.
Sounded like F15

Heard 3 or 4 fast jets about 2030 over Middlesbrough. Lights showed them to be travelling North.
I thought about a trip to Leeming this afternoon but the radio traffic was ominously quiet so I didn't bother. Maybe saving themselves for night flying?
