The company have made an effort to dispel stories in the wider company and the local media that the site has closed by issuing some site "news". We are certainly very busy with building parts, new design, engineering and parts support to the world-wide fleet, testing etc. and there has even been some recruitment !
BBC Look North had one item recently:-

BAE Heritage Week, they've publicised it a lot through social media.
P.S. I'm not sure you needed to post the same thing three times in three posts!

I was away when all this happened.
I guess the twin on the day was the Warton Pa44 taxi
The B-2 was flown by the Chief Test Pilot and carried Carole Vorderman. She was doing an article for the One show in a couple of weeks describing her round-the world flight next year emulating pioneer Mildred Bruce - who learnt to fly in a B-2

Anyone who has been around recently will have seen a lot of activity around the site with tidying up (=demolition!!) of the surplus older & peripheral buildings. The old squash courts, wind tunnels, test labs, ejector seat storage, etc. B shed has recently been let to a local company for storage and I think Ops hangar on the North side will be soon (C shed is already occupied). The holding company are doing a lot more work to improve the fascias etc to promote it.
Also look out next year for the Centenary celebrations. The site has been in constant use since 1916 and was opened just after Westlands in Yeovil, so nearly lays claim to being the oldest site on the country and, possibly, the world !

I went there a couple of weeks ago to try to photograph the mocked-up Hawk Mk.128 (ex Indonesian AF Hawk Mk.53 LL-5313) at the main gate. Unfortunately I couldn't find an unobstructed view from outside and my polite request to photograph from inside was unsuccessful. However the personnel manning the gate were helpful and did try phoning to get permission. However they were told "no photographing on site". Never mind, at least I saw the Hawk!

Not this time, but back in September 2011. Saw just two Buccaneers there - XN974 and XX901. Presumably XN974 is the ex Brough gate guard?

Many thanks. Sounds like another visit to Elvington required - these museums are always changing!

I didn't see any advanced notice which is a pity as it would have been nice to see .

A friend of mine took this pic of the old (1930s) technical offices being demolished.
Plans for use of the more recent offices are well underway:-
