Noted at 20:30 tonight was (ZJ521 / PA-08) parked outside the scrapping area, the screens to the scrapping area were not fully closed and no Nimrod's were present inside so ZJ519 and ZJ523 have already been scrapped.

It's been moved to the hangars and is being prepared, so far the engines and various other equipment has been removed.

I thought they were going to keep 14, 16 + 18 complete for the time being?
Very Depressing

Anyone got any recent pics?
Very sad to see that ZJ516+18 are gone so quickly, what has happened to all the onbard computers etc?

My understanding is that 603 is still owned by BAE and that VTTS were allowed access to it for spares and NDT.

Had an update from 'Twinstar' ZJ521 is no more as is ZJ520, which snuck out on Monday night and was placed into the scrapping area yesterday morning!
Just leaves ZJ515, 516 and 518 left to go at Woodford now and ZJ514 at Warton.
The Vulcan is owned by BAe, so I expect that will be the last to go whilst the breakers are still on site...

ZJ514 is outside now I believe (At Warton) and won't be around at this time tomorrow!
ORJX is owned by the Oxford Aviation Academy, so is safe.

trembler1 wrote:Sad day at Warton as ZJ514 was unceremoniously dragged out from the hangar south side and cut up behind a wall of trucks. All became clear with the arrival of 2 Hills breaking trucks on Monday night and the increase in security. The men from the MoD turned up and made sure that no images or 'souvenirs' were taken from the aircraft.
Breaking started at 10am and took less than 4 hours to reduce the mighty hunter to a pile of junk fit only for 4 large skips.

As seen in another thread on the Forum..
