Night flying

Post by Condor68 » Wed Sep 22, 2021 7:37 am

Had an amazing bit of luck last night sky here was exceptionally clear for most of evening. With binoculars I was able to pick out 3 of the 4 Hawks and the 3 Falcon 20s that were off the coast. Then while watching a civil all lit up realised I could see the faint lights and trails of the 2 KC135S as they neared the coast ,on their orbits under it.Pity the C-17 and Hercules didnt come a bit further north.Missed a Chinook which sneaked past at low level. Certainly made uo for all the overflies missed in the cloud we have had here. All from the bottom of the garden. Will now need new shed armchair etc.

A good evening's viewing!

Last night was a bit of a disappointment at Leuchars

Just got lucky with clear sky a bright moon for tankers .The others werent too far away. Had the lap top out in the picnic table to use ADSB to locate them then Binos Most nights here are disappointing.

Cheers

Keith
