GAF Tornados 29/07

Post by Mike » Sat Jul 30, 2022 4:49 pm

I'm surprised that none of the Leuchars locals have posted regarding the arrival of 46+02 & 46+07 on Friday from Lossiemouth, apparently they're due to depart on Monday 01/08.
This season, I'll be mostly wearing........A THONG!

I'm not quite a Leuchars 'local', but they did arrive on Friday after a low(ish) level jaunt from Lossie and they are due to leave on Monday. There were originally meant to be three of them, but one went tech before departure from Germany.

Wow, great to hear Leuchars still getting these sort of movements - excellent.

If anyone has a heads-up about the expected departure time for the Germans on Monday, I'd be happy to hear it!

Both jets departed at approx 1200L with one low approach before entering a quick low level run and RTB to Germany.

Caught them while cycling along Riverside. A lovely sight as they turned back over The Gauldry way and down the Tay.

They left at 12:18. Given that I was standing in the shower (in Aberdeenshire) at 11am, reckon I did well to have been on a hill west of Leuchars and caught them departing when they did. I'll also find out soon if the average speed cameras on the A90 are operational.....

On a broader point, does anyone know if Leuchars is likely to expect any JW participants in October?
