2 P3's departed, one either side of lunchtime and a couple of Hawks and DA20's were flying.
The Herc that departed at 0900 was an RAF "J" according to a chap that I spoke to for 5 mins.
I spent the evening at Kinloss, there wasn't any sign of her. Seemed a bit weird that it took 40,000lbs of fuel and departed on the callsign it came in on instead of a mission callsign. Maybe homebound, just on a stopover. Would love to be wrongJonay wrote:I saw her return at about 1700hrs just as I was leaving Lossie, I was going to try get over to Kinloss but it was going to be impossible! I'll catch it next week
Was that today? There is another USN P3 (VP-16) at Kinloss, which I think was the one that took off just after lunch, so could've been that one that you saw.Jonay wrote:I saw her return at about 1700hrs just as I was leaving Lossie, I was going to try get over to Kinloss but it was going to be impossible!
