French Navy Atlantique

Post by np1991 » Mon Nov 22, 2010 4:07 pm

There's currently an Atlantique (#17 which has some sort of tail markings to it) on the deck at Kinloss. Landed about 1500L, however it was only suppost to do an ILS approach, but encoutered a problem, so it landed. It's parked behind the tower. The USN P3s are still there also :thumb:

The tail looks like the rudder is red, white and blue with a gold anchor on the tail with some writing.

Not bad for a base that doesn't have any (flying) maritime aircraft of its own......

The Northern NATO countries that have a MPA capability will be filling the gap left behind by the Nimrod, so expect to see USN, Canadian, French, German and Norwegian a/c in and out fo Kinloss for the time being. As for the long term future, watch this space :ninja:

The Atlantique has gone home (I think), wasn't at Kinloss this morning when I got there about 1000L. I left about 1330L after a 3rd USN P3 turned up. Serial for the P3 is 157322/LK :thumb:
