German EF 2000's 11/05
Re: German EF 2000's 11/05
The last few days they've been going late afternoon/evening, up for an hour and a half. Might be a bit earlier tomorrow with it being a Friday

Cheers Niall

I still get this mixed up even after working with it for years

Re: German Typhoons 11/05
They're still Typhoons.. Their local designation's are EF2000S and EF2000T.. Just like Spanish Typhoons are called C-16's and T-21's but they are still Typhoons hence why on the tail of IPA3 98+03 is 'Eurofighter Typhoon'Thunder wrote:Did the Luftwaffe EF2000's (to give them their correct title) fly today. If so what times and flight durations.
Thanks
It's a bit like saying F-15I's are not Strike Eagles..

Re: German Typhoons 11/05
The Luftwaffe, Aeronautica Militare Italiana and I think Austria officially do not recognise the name "Typhoon" they refer to the a/c as EF2000. The reason "Typhoon" is on the fin of 98+03 is for marketing purposes, although on the Military register it is a development a/c owned and operated by EADS at Manching/Ingolstadt the same as the BAE ones at Warton.Macc wrote:They're still Typhoons.. Chris..
The F15I may be from the "Eagle" line, but it certainly isn't a Strike Eagle.
Did the Germans fly today?
Re: German Typhoons 11/05

98+03 (Spark 1) and 30+28 (Spark 2) departed dry at 1445L, 30+23 (Spark 3) departed in afterburner at 1505L..
Spark Formation had all landed by 1640L.

All three left Kinloss for home today with the 2x single seat jets doing a rather spirited take offs and flyby!

Re: German EF 2000's 11/05
Hello Macc, any idea which one left on its own at 1230 after the Nimrod flypast? It was one of the 30+ and appeared to be in special marks - or could it have been a fourth as there have been no support flights AFAIK.
