Kinloss closure??? Runway repairs completed

Last year the base closed for 3 weeks, re-opening the weekend prior to CQWI which started Monday 6th May so this year they are keeping the dates well apart. I seem to remember most work was at each end near the thresholds. About 6-7 MR2 deployed to Lossie parked near 14 sqn ramp & hot refuel area, along with the nightly Benair Short360. The Glasgow & Strathclyde UAS stayed at Kinloss using part of the runway still open, the spindlies also used the parallel strip to the north of the runway. Helis visited as usual, notably a Shawbury AS355 (unsure of designation) and some CQWI early arrivals went to Lossie on the Friday before, but 4 of the Harriers got into Kinloss the same day using their versatility!

Just to update
Only the Main runway at Kinloss will be closed, after talking with a Glasgow UAS pilot at Perth on Saturday they are intending to operate from the Parallel when they arrive this week for a summer camp

I have been told that all Runway maintenance has been completed and the Runway is due to re-open within the next day or so.

Just heard on the scanner that Runway 25 is in use as against Runway 25 Parallell. Work finished by the looks of it
