Eagle 05???

Post by np1991 » Fri Oct 22, 2010 12:25 pm

Kept hearing the above callsign on Kinloss Ground (389.4). Kept on radio checking, but I couldn't see anything apart from the 2 USN P3s and a Canadian CP140. I thought this was an F15 callsign?
Cheers Niall

It's also a British VIP operator, and a common callsign used for bird-scarers - I'd guess the latter :)

In that case, probably a P-3, but I'm not sure.

I'll shut up now :)

What USN Squadrons are the P3's from?

VP-16 "LF" are called (War)Eagles, is that a/c still around or did that one go home, also VP-9 "PD" "Golden Eagles" out of Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii use the Eagle callsign.

Niall

I suspect its a (VP-16) groundy calling up when fixing the LA P-3, which probably came up from Sigonella without any groundcrew due to VP-16 being on site for JW-02 i suspect they are now looking after both aircraft, and busy as well.

Theres a CP-140 in now as well, the LF was airborne when I passed by at 1.30

It was the VP5 machine by the way 158929 and he requested Fire truck support for his landing
