South Ayrshire Council's apparent behaviour over this alleged dispute with the airshow organisers is nothing short of deplorable.

Although not exactly unexpected. In my own dealings with SAC over the years I'd have to say they are one of the most inept bunch of morons it's ever been my misfortune to deal with. For them to refuse to even talk to the organisers or meet with them to resolve the dispute is disgraceful. I hope a lot of people use every opportunity they can to make their feelings towards SAC known to them.

It isn't really a shock after it came about in the media that there was a £80,000 black hole in payments . If organisers are still paying off debts from 2018 then it really is poor money management.

If you where in there shoes would you hand out another £170,000 when someone is still paying off debts.

Was good while it lasted but doing a free show was always going to be hard port rush also cancelled under same circumstances.

Someone has to pick up the mantle either leuchars or lossiemouth doubt it be this year as to much planning involved.

SIA haven't exactly been squeaky clean either, just saying. :pop:

Agreed. Both parties need to end the social media point scoring posts blaming each other and work to find a solution.

But isn't that what SIA has been trying to do for months? It appears SAC refused to discuss it with them (by phone or meeting). I'm sure a friendly face-to-face meeting could have had this sorted before the spat became public. Fairly stupid behaviour by SAC considering the benefit SIA is bringing to the local area.

For anyone interested, there's a 20-minute video from SIA's director explaining his position here:

And if you were to believe them then the show was going to eclipse RIAT. A bit like Bullseye,"here's what you could've won" :Wow:

You may think it's OTT but it's very easy to name drop when you don't have to step up to the plate. Every SIA press or public release is longer than J R R Tolkien trilogy or given 2018 "show", as long as the gaps in the display. :S

So TSIA had a £170k budget to produce the biggest airshow ever in Scotland sorry but that is laughable. With no portrush show as cancelled earlier then they had to find the full show themselves.

What where the planning on bringing to make it the biggest ever show in Scotland . If my memory serves me correct that would deffo be leuchars 88 and 93 shows. Pretty sure even back then they had a bigger budget than 170k.

What about the RAfA air shows at PWk earlier. I considered them well organised and full of NATO and USAF participation. Not forgetting HHS GANNET support and participation.
