Military exercises this week

Post by Spiltmilk » Wed Jan 26, 2022 1:35 pm

Prompted by my sister seeing what I can only guess is a Merlin helicopter (from her description to me) in the field behind her garden in Challock, Kent, this news article may be of interest to forum members:-

Quick summary for you , 3 chinooks , 3 merlins and 2 wildcats flying out of Saint Martins Plain this week as part of the ex involving special forces troops working with RFA Tidesurge ( I think it was ) in the English Channel. I'll be down there tomorrow so hopefully have some photos to post in the photography section soon!

Thank you. That supports my deduction that it was a Merlin at Challock. Nobody can mistake a Chinook, and a Wild Cat would be too small. I look forward to any photographs that you post.

Just in case you weren't aware, you need to have made five posts to get full access to all parts of the forum. Maybe pop over to the photo section and make a couple of comments.
