Wireless USB 54Mbps USB adapters

Post by Bloxham Boy » Tue Oct 27, 2009 11:34 pm

As my 2nd Belkin version of the above appears to have died :@ , I am seeking recommendations for a good, reliable replacement.

I am using Windows XP and a BT broadband hub. Don't want to pay a fortune unless that is the only way to get the quality. Any ideas ?

Thanks.
John

I use a model by the name of Peak, it blows the rest out the water and they are very cheap.

Been buying my PC stuff from these for years,
the company started up many moons ago on the main Marconi site in Coventry . they did all the IT and pc work for Marconi.
they set up a reatail side and they have done very well for years.

Sadly Marconi went manboobs! up a few years ago but this company is still going strong and service is second to non.
the bits you need are on this link. i have both the dongle and modem. running from a NTL hub. the speeds are imperssive on my lap top . faster then wired direct to the modem for some reason???.
hope this is of help to you.check out the site some cracking stuff on offer if you look.

jim bewdley wrote:Hi Vulcan, I've been having problems too with the wireless reception. I'm afraid I don't understand computers too well. Fortunately my son-in-law is quite clued up. He spent some time this week setting up my computer I've just had made, and until I fitted a 5mtr extention lead to the Belkin it was only showing two bars out of five and was hopeless. I now get three and four bars so it's much better. I live in a bungalow and the hub is only about 30ft away (about 10ft from the Belkin with the extention) so I feel I should be doing better. Does the company on your link provide the installation disk with the reciever? So sorry if it's a daft question, but as I said I know little about these things...Many thank's..Kindest..Jim... :) ....
Yes the peak router came with a setup disc, and the usb dongle is just plug and play.
