Mine leapt from 500 to 715 pounds this year as I had let it auto renew as I wasnt well at renewal time last year.Questioned it as same car etc and was told basically take it or leave it.Tried a company I used previously and was told 272 quid. When discussing it I found it included a lot of the whistles and bells I had to pay for with the original company. Added a few extras and now its 394 which is a good bit cheaper than I was LAST year. After cancelling existing policy got Thank you for renewing letters and e mails saying new documents in post.Had to put them right on that.

Aviva multi car policy, two cars two drivers

last year was £667
This years quote was originally £1276 but after i questioned it they kindly offered it me at £1170

'' Increases on cost due to the European energy crisis & increasing numbers of uninsured drivers''

Well, its hardly surprising more ppl are driving around uninsured is it !

if you dont auto renew you are classed as a new customer and get a big discount always go on comparison sites as soon as you get your renewal never ever leave it to the last minute as it will go up do it about 21 days before for best price

I recently bought a Renault Clio 1.2 (10 plate) for my 17 year old daughter to learn to drive in. I took out a policy in her name, as a provisional driver, and it is costing £263 per year. When she passes her test and gets her full licence it will increase to approx £2.5K per year!

Not car, but my bike insurance renewal came through about £25 more than last year so I shopped around, the renewaly was £280. Some insurers refused to quote, and thise that would were way more expensive than the renewal. I've checked the details, its all correct, I'm totally mystified.

Having seen some of the price increases mentioned in this thread, and with my car-insurance with LV due for renewal, I was dreading the arrival of the letter detailing how much more I would be out of pocket for the upcoming year. I was truly staggered at the price they were quoting - it has gone DOWN, albeit by less than a fiver, but I'll take it as offered. Thank you LV! :D

Just make sure that you have the cover you want. A couple of weeks ago my windscreen needed replacing. (driver of ancient german car speeding on a recently dressed road!). I know I have windscreen cover so went straight to "Autoglass" to book replacement - turns out they did not link to my insurers and the quote was for c.£1500.

I then checked with my insurers who linked me to "Autowindscreens" - which cost me the £75 excess.

Left LV about 20 years ago when price rocketed and they wouldnt tell me why. This year my renewal after 20 years with another in the first place.company was silly like the ones you mention. As we got a good house insurance quote from LV I tried them and got a quote which is under the quote that caused me to leave them. With all the same bells and whstles.

Tried to insure with LV, but they wouldn't insure me because I'm over 80.

Seems to be insurance in general, this years home insurance has gone up by 65%. I’ve shopped around and they’re all much the same, but as usual small print needs to be checked as to what’s included and not included. Cameras a tricky one as they class a DSLR and lens as one item, not two, so you have to declare it as a high valve item, which of course bumps the price up. Excesses are high as standard but if you lower it , again price is bumped up.

LV quote came in at £1437, not including legal protection or home emergency cover, seriously😆
