Not sure if anyone has seen this on YouTube, but I've just started to watch this seemingly quite new documentary ...two x 3 hours+ programmes made up of ITN news clips of the conflict day by day. Very interesting with a lot of extended ITN footage that I've not seen before. Really brings the war home as if you were watching it real time back in 82. I was 12 at the time and found it very interesting and sobering at times.

Re: Falklands War Documentary YouTube
Hi I am quite a lot older than you and have probably seen most of the clips and forgotten most of them.As you have just started I wont mention my favourites. What I have never seen is any mention of the incredible job the Victor tankers /recon did, until I recently when I read a book called Vulcan 607.It took 17 Victors and 2 in the air as spares all swapping fuel to get The Vulcans to their various missions. Also that Victors had been flying recon over the islands area after being refitted with their cameras before the missions started.Again multi aircraft refuelling .My wife`s ex husband was there with 45 Commando and on his return home she said he was obviously badly affected but not as bad as when they came back from Ireland. I was at a memorial for 45Commando losses a few weeks ago and met quite a few veterans one of which had been in the South Georgia group. The casual way he spoke about 20 something of them (I think)against thousands and finding out the Argentines didnt do what they thought and no plan B was sobering.I hope you enjoy it as I will as I will watch the lot again but apparently the most sobering bit about it was when the order Fix Bayonets was given.Wouldnt like to have heard that.
Enjoy you viewing

Thanks for your comments Keith, very interesting. I've just read Harrier 809 and now started Vulcan 607 plus I've a couple of Shars on the modelling workbench so I've a renewed interest in The Falklands at the moment.

Many years ago I read 'Air War South Atlantic', very interesting, might be worth a squint?

If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!
