I think although I obviously can't know, that Australia will be bitterly disappointed. They came here to win the Ashes and they didn't despite being two nil up.
England obviously didn't win the Ashes either but for me it's how you play ( applicable to any walk of life) and Stoke's team played to their potential and without fear and earned the respect of the crowd.
Did you know that registration to Fighter Control is completely free and brings you lots of added features? Find out more....
The Ashes 2023
Re: The Ashes 2023
Australia have held the Ashes since 2017/18, retaining them both times in England with draws in 2019 and 2023 and thrashing us 4-0 in Australia 21/22.
Only one team has ever lost two Tests and come back to win a Series, the odds were always stacked against us after Lord's. Simply the tactical errors in the first two tests made us pay very heavily in the final reckoning in-spite of how well we performed later on and we did and I enjoyed it. In my view unless the backroom team and the Skipper can face up to admitting that, at least to themselves, we are likely to carry on being glorious losers.
