It's all about money and team orders

Never in a million years was bottas with two t's going to race Hamilton for the first corner. If he was ahead going in then fine but he wasn't so he took the sensible line. He could have pushed max off the track but he didn't.

If you want to watch wheel to wheel racing then there are other formulae.

That's it for me now, it's Max's championship. Merc just don't have the pace of Red Bull and Max almost has a win in hand, I think Max can take it even with a DNF at some point. Fully expect Abu Dhabi and Brazil to suit Red Bull, not sure about the other two. I really wanted to see Lewis get to 8 to take the record from Schuey but I'm having doubts that will ever happen now. George will be a tougher challenge for Lewis, being the new boy won't matter one bit if he out qualifies him, which I think he will very quickly. Good for the sport though, must have been a rubbish few years if you're not a Hamilton fan, of course I am so I've darn loved it.

I think Bottas would ignore team orders if it was for a win, he's out of the team next year anyway and it's his last few races with a race winning car.

I think he WOULD obey team orders. It's important for drivers to realise that, after all, they are employees, not team owners, and not obeying orders might well result in a financial penalty to him, and would certainly be noted by his new team. As regards World Championships, most of us oldies believe that Lewis has already beaten Schumacher, as he cheated in the last race of that year in order to win the title. Steering didn't work as Damon came alongside??? Pull the other one!!!!!.

Hamilton under investigation for for DRS regulations breach. Its going to be deeply disappointing if he is penalised, as thats championship over and a foregone conclusion for the race win.

Demote both of them to the back of the grid. That should make for an interesting race, especially on this circuit.🙂

Seriously, Good to see Hamilton back to form this weekend, though just a little too late in the season to do any serious damage to Max's run in to the Drivers Championship. Plus LH has a grid penalty anyway, so second will probably be the best result he can hope for in the race. But, stranger things have happened in the past.
Here's looking forward to a good race.

Seven, as you know, there is no such thing as a foregone conclusion in F.1. :)

Today's news says otherwise..

One does wonder where the logic is in fining someone €50k, when your very next action virtually guarantees that same individual multiple millions in prize money.

All the while saying we have to do whats best for the sport...

Wow, gotta say I think that was the best race of the season. I will say if anyone is waiting for the highlights, find the full race somewhere. There wasn't a single lap there not worth watching.

Brilliant Sprint (not) Race, couple of laps in Lewis got the knack of holding off for the last few corners, his closing speed was epic, great to watch and should set him up well for the race. Need a clean first few laps for Lewis and a DNF for Max now please, sadly I think that's the only way Lewis can take the championship. From interviews this week Lewis was talking about making sure that they got the constructors, hope he's not accepting 2nd place in the drivers.
I think I'd like to see the Sprints a little longer, maybe make the tyres a bit of a factor, not necessarily a pit stop but in the F2 they have to manage the tyres to some extent. I think Bottas was approaching the limit.

To be honest. I don't think Lewis minds being in the position that he is, Championship or not. What he as always admitted to is that he loves a challenge... the need to move forward....to prove himself capable of fighting towards the front. He has very, very little to prove. He loves.... now what was that word???? RACING... which to him does not mean having an easy Sunday afternoon drive at the front of the field. Looking forward to tonight!!.

I can't wait either Brazil rarely disappoints. I noted the other day that Abu Dhabi have changed the layout to give some tight turns at the ends of straights, It's a stunning venue but such a bore fest, fingers crossed it works.

It definitely seems the Lewis we know and love/hate is back. Either that or cry babies red bull are right and his car is illegal. Nice of horrible horner to confirm it was them that went too see the stewards regarding the Mercedes.

Mercedes 1-2 with Hamilton winning till the end would be enough. But yes, that'll do me too please.

I'd say I'm in the approval category for sprint races, as long as its not used for qualifying for the GP. Some are still creaming over reverse grids, so why not have a reverse grid race on the Sunday, with a modified (no decimal points) half points awarded for the top 10? Would be a cracker at Monaco.

Yea nah. Racing is one thing, winning is another. And winning is better. He says often enough that he craves being able to race other teams, but he's always happier on a boring race day than on a day like today, when he over took everyone he could have. We'll see what happens later if he find himself stuck behind Norris, Leclerc, Sainz and Perez..

Like or loathe Horner, it is clear that his complaint to the stewards was fully justified and Mercedes were up to no good. Rules are there for a reason, break them and you pay the penalty.
