Just been flogging some stuff on Gumtree and found a Guy contacting me saying he would get it picked up by a courier which he would pay for.No questions about the camera .Sent me an alleged FEDEX instruction link.Where I had to follow links provided by the BUYER,take that to basically mean give him my bank details in a round about way. Sending couriers to pick up an old Canon eos 30d that I only wanted 50 quid for?

Is this a scam?
Re: Is this a scam?
Just got another one same thing. They say it will be done through Gumtree . Gumtree website says they dont provide that services.

If it seems dodgy, it is dodgy - don’t even click on the links. It really isn’t worth risking for a £50 camera!
Re: Is this a scam?
Yes it is (one of) the courier scams.
Re: Is this a scam?
Just had another one wanting to use a bank transfer/courier because he/she feels safer..Got to give them credit for trying
Re: Is this a scam?
Might sound obvious but if it helps anyone.I eventually had 3 of these scammers yesterday but it wasnt asking me to give details via a dodgy looking FEDEX and other carrier link that triggered my suspicions .It was simply no one asked any questions about the camera .They simply said they wanted it and got down to the scam. Every other item I have sold I have had at least one question before sale or an attempt to play Bargain Hunt and knock the price down..
