Good luck Emma
The rise and rise of Emma Raducanu continues at Flushing Meadows tonight. First British Woman to reach the final of the US open since Virginia Wade won the title in 1968

Re: Good luck Emma
Hi,
I posted this in July on another forum and think it is apt for this post
Emma Raducanu what a upcoming star in the tennis world. A young British 18 year women player, gone into Wimbledon on a wildcard entry. Beaten some higher ranking players to reach the second week. Add this to the fact she hasn't played any major events until now and played on court 1. Fantastic attitude and personality. I personally don't like watching the women's matches, I find them a bit boring. Not this player, some of the shots she has won is outstanding and almost unbelievable. If she doesn't progress what she has done so far, she should be proud and done our country proud as well. A star in the making.

It looks like Emma Raducanu still is making massive progress. Made it to the US Open semi after winning every match, competing against top seeds and Olympic winners. Now she is Britain's number 1 and will rank with the world top players. Still after each match has a beaming smile. Also is becoming a media liked player. On top of all this she aced her A levels in Maths and Economics. What a year from such a young player. Tonight's game is going to hard to win, but not impossible going by her standard of play so far. My fingers are crossed.
If anyone is interested in watching the final of the US Open, it is on Channel 4 at 8PM. Normally it is only televised on Amazon Prime.

Re: Good luck Emma
Thanks for the info on times Dont normally bother about team sports on tele (havent watched a Scotland game for years}but have just changed to channel 4 as I nearly always watch Brits in individual sports as when they cross the line they are on their OWN.A team game lets a few have a dodgy game but they can still win.Lets hope she wakes up with a roaring hangover and gets excess baggage charges on the way home.Echo Good luck Emma telly on Whisky to hand Fizzy in Fridge

Re: Good luck Emma
Listening to build up and looking a figures reckon both of them would waste a Fitness coach At this level they know what they need .Just like football sometimes more backroom than crowd present depending on level but they all need it??The young have ability fitness resilienceand desire to win.How many of anybodies support team have ever been winners at anything.Ssuppose should say not really a tennis person because I did it but couldnt wWe had a guy in the pub who was an alcholic and had a few beers with us on a sunday went down to the courts when Wimbledon was on and wasted us.Andy Murray to me says it all what he went through at school is not normal yet with his mothers admission she drove her kids to tennis not golf or football he had to make the decision and go for it. Nice gesture having oldies there

Re: Good luck Emma
Back in the day Flushing Meadows was always a boiling cauldron of no nonsense New Yorkers baying for blood , especially when McEnroe or Connors was playing - it's what you want from a crowd.
Re: Good luck Emma
Come on Ms Raducanu, talk about turning up the pressure
Canβt watch
