About ten years ago in the Legion I was speaking to an eldery member about his memories about the town. He came out with a cracker any of you who have been at Barry Buddon will know the distance to the Corner hotel(about 1 1/2 miles) Signalman X left as usual go for a pint on his bike had a few more then returneD to work knowing the schedules .At the crossing he found a couple trains North bound and one South bound waitimg patiently../They accepted his explanation of checking the line and headed off .They were all freight trains so hr got away with it.Even he didnt know why.
