Did anyone stay awake long enough to see the end? So much potential, but yet another track which failed to deliver.

It was nice to see Lewis back to his old self, and outpacing his team mate in the later stages. I spent much of the week-end watching British Superbikes from Knockhill. Very, very entertaining, but prefer the challenge of F.1 tho'.

Seems like Nelson Piquet has not, after all these years, learned how to put his brain in gear before engaging his mouth :grr:

No words :grr:

If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Yep. He has a history of making offensive comments. He was very rude about Nigel Mansell's wife if I remember correctly. Looking forward to the week-end!!.

Listening to a Brazilian/Portuguese speaker it seems this may be media hype and Nelson has not made racist remarks after all, would the media do such a thing, surely not 😲.
Time will tell I guess..

There's been many Brazilians who have come out and clarified it is racist - either way, it shouldn't have been said. A lot of Brazilians don't like him either.

Reminds me of the Suarez - Evra incident where in his hometown it wasn't racist yet everywhere else it was. There's just no need.

If what I've read were his choice of words, then yes it was casual racism.

My suggestion would be to ban all members of his family from all F1 events. ;)

No need to ban his family. His daughter is Max Verstappen's girl friend, and she has nothing to do with what Piquet allegedly said. I suspect that her Dad would regard himself as 'Persona non Grata' now anyway. Perhaps we would be better banning Max's dad, who is a very nasty piece of work indeed!!!.

The two offspring should therefore make an exceptionally good pairing, just hope they don't take after their fathers.

I don't know what words were said and I am not racist but I also don't like cancel culture that seems to be contagious these days.

Better to confront them , let them in and the crowd will boo as they will be entitled to do

Well, that doesn't help remove racism, does it?

It's not cancel culture, but when you read what he said and how he referred to Hamilton, it was just not necessary, and has rightly been called out. Cancel culture is rife yes, but racism isn't right.

That's what I thought!

Piquet's now released a statement, apparently it isn't racist and doesn't condone it, yet why was he referring the Lewis and his colour in the first place... :S

Bernie Eccleston has been allowed on National TV again and has said "I'd take a bullet for Vladimir Putin"

...He needs to be put down

He has certainly become a national embarrassment, just like Boris.
