Ricciardo has been on borrowed time for a long time.
Results wise yes. But if it does suddenly click for him, he would be up with Norris if not ahead. Plus of course if they replace him, the could be replacing him with a driver who ends up with the same issue with the car, or worse!

I think that's right, give him the car and he'll give them the results..

Looks almost certain now that Ricciardo is on his way out of Mclaren.

Other reports saying Danny Ric to Alpine. Hope so as I like him, gave McLaren their only win in recent years, short memories.
Piastri is bit special though, won all 3 feeder series in succession so just bad timing didn't see him in an F1 seat this year, he'll go well but I hope Danny goes better in the Alpine.

I agree with you. Everybody likes to dial in their cars differently, and the Mclaren simply would not react kindly to his set up. I like him too, a little breath of fresh air in a serious business, and if it is Alpine [which I suspect it will be] then I think he well do well there. though I doubt wins will come from there.

Spa this week-end!. It's GOT to be better than last years farce.I predict in practice Ferrari fastest, followed by Red Bull, then the Mercs. Race. Both Ferraris' break, Max wins, Lewis 2nd, George third. On the other hand, if it rains..... who knows. Busy Sunday!. All of Spa, BTCC at Thruxton, BSB at Cadwell Park... [Thruxton was fabulous with the bikes last time.......used to Skydive there in another life.. Scary times!!] hope it's not sunny, 'cos I have to be outside if it is!!. Looking forward to it!.

I jumped there a few times. Cant remember his name, but the jump school owner would zoom past blowing a duck whistle. He later set up a POW camp, where unlucky people paid to experience a weekend in it - and loved the starving, cold, ill-treatment. Then a superb Sunday evening meal on release.

Owner was Bernie Green when I was there. I was 24, I am now nearly 80, so may not be the same guy. Good times tho'. It was the British Sky Diving Club when I was jumping, with our own Rapide G-AKNN. We called it the Brown Bomber, and sometimes the Flying Tu.d. Did a few out of G-AKIF, which is now pleasure-flying out of Duxford. 10 years later, I converted to metal wings.[Not so much adrenaline overload!!.]

So Ricciardo is out of McLaren come the end of the season. Such a shame to see known talent like his go to waste (albeit not always). And more so that his replacement is most likely to be pastrami.

Personally I'd have liked to have seen Alonso and pasty sacked on the spot back at the start of the month. Plus McLaren to have seen just what they had taken on, and nulled the contract too.

The out of session interviews with certain individuals are certainly going to be interesting come Friday!

I think Ricciardo is too good not to be in F1, hopefully he'll get a decent seat next season, personally I think Alonso is good for the sport, no nonsense, takes no prisoners, the rest of the season will be interesting, I hope Ferrari get their act together and Mercedes improve.

Certainly agree with Ricciardo, and I doubt he'll have any trouble finding a seat next year, just hope it's not Haas!
As for Alonso, I wouldn't say anyone is too good for the sport. He's probably too good for the teams he's been with recently. But he has dragged down more teams than he won with. There's a reason the big 3 aren't fighting over him..

If the CRB rule in Alpine's favour Haas might be his only option, with KMag doing okay Danny might do alright there there I'd say, at least it's not Williams.
What a great opportunity for Merc yesterday with so many penalties, shame they flushed it down the loo, lets hope for some race pace.

With the pace that the Red Bull has this weekend, and for most of the season, I can't see anything other than another victory for Max and Red Bull ( barring tech issues or other), who had over 6 tenths advantage over the second pace in qualifying.
Personally I would rather see a Perez win, if he gets over his usual mid season slump.

Let's hope for a good race for the minor positions.

Who cares. If he thinks he knows best, let him. Just remind him it's his fault if it turns out he was injured later down the line.
Either way, he clearly hasn't learnt from Silverstone, you can't turn in on someone you know is on your inside.

That makes no sense. Lewis was at fault in Spa. But he was on the inside at Silverstone, so what does he have to learn from that?

Simply the roles were reversed. He did exactly what verstappen did to him. Although as I recall his reaction over the radio was a little more controlled than grandads today.
