Apparently there was some bad behaviour by some fans prior to the race. No details known, but I am a little perturbed by the , if you like, similarity of football crowd irreverence to other teams and drivers that they may not like. Booing etc.
The British fans were booing Max during his post race interviews at Silverstone which isn't great; last year they cheered when Hamilton forced him off into a 50G crash and he ended up in hospital.
Sadly that's just the way a few people are, wherever you go.

Last year, I believe that some circuits banned/asked the Dutch fans not to set off flares. To no avail if I remember.
You seem to be mistaking flares with coloured smoke canisters, which are openly available to buy for parties, weddings and celebrations etc.
There's a big difference, and I don't recall any of the tv pundits mentioning anything about it being supposedly dangerous as has been suggested. If anything F1 will love it as it makes good tv for their product.

TBF, the headlines these journalist scum give their 'articles' are as bad. So only right they talk to these dinosaurs to get views.

I saw one today 'Mercedes admit porpoising rules would get them banned', then the text 'quotes' a Mercedes engineer saying under the proposed rules Mercedes wouldn't have been able to run the car as they did in Azerbaijan.. Scum. Just scum.
Calling jounos scum is a bit rich, coming from the bloke who described Max's F1 Championship win as "a crime worse than anything the Nazi's did".
Seriously!

Who said that, Ecclestone? Surely not even he could be that crass.

PS I think if you have spent good money on a ticket then you are entitled to boo whoever you want

You're right, not even Ecclestone could be that crass, but your boy 'seven' is, and he said so right here on this very forum until a moderator rightly deleted it!

I don't think there's any need to boo when someone is being interviewed. Just seems unnessesary and disrespectful imo.

Hurn, Reduced visibility was certainly mentioned during a live broadcast last year. I take your point re canisters. Cheers.

I guess if there is a big visibility issue, then the start of the race could be delayed by a few minutes for the smoke to clear.
However, they were only let off en masse at the very beginning and end of the race, so I don't think they'll ever be a major problem.

As for 'poor Perez', who was only in that position due to going off track to achieve qualifying lap times, where was Russell supposed to go exactly? If he brakes the cars behind will be up his rectum, if he turns in more he spins and causes a bigger accident.. As with Vettel and ghastly gasly, that corner has a habit of not rewarding those on the outside, so why keep trying it?
I actually agree here, because Russel had some right to be there and kept his car tight. We saw how well Leclerc did it, and actually surprisingly, Max left the space. (Probably didn't expect the divebomb!) If Ferrari sort that reliability out, they've got a heck of a car.

Social media is to blame for this intense Verstappen v Hamilton hatred among the fans (surprise surprise). It's so incredibly toxic, especially on Twitter. It's also just very childish to be honest.

Agree with both posts, James. I felt that Lewis was hard done by last year with Albon. The only way that the outside will work is when the car on the inside is considerably slower, because then the inside car can tighten the turn without being in much danger of spinning.

Whatever was said or meant back then, I would argue that even that statement possibly read by a few hundred people would be far less 'crass' than the midget former sports dictator openely stating his support for the current russo-Nazi wannabe ordering the destruction of Ukraine to hundreds of THOUSANDS
live on TV.

That was two years ago ;) I can't remember much of it myself, but as I recall both Mercs were on well used tyres, which would not have switched back on as quickly as Albons new boots. So his bold overtake on a known to be risky corner against a car with far less grip around the outside was indeed somehow the other man's fault... Still at least it gave a great podium for Norris and McLaren.

As Mike Tyson once said, 'social media is responsible for giving people somewhere to say whatever they want and not get punched in face for it'.

Raptor is referring to the abuse (which is being invested by the FIA and Austrian Police) prior to the start of the race. Which from what I've read includes racist abuse from the 'orange army' to some fans wearing Mercedes gear. Still don't ruin the carnival atmosphere eh?

No, your statement wasn't any LESS crass than Bernie's because only a few hundred people may have seen it! What a stupid way to look at it!

Well, sorry for not being able to comment to every incident in every race. I think I've made myself clear here now though.

If a small minority of people are being idiots, then they should get dealt with. That goes for all fans at every race! I'd wager the majority of the orange army were there to cheer on Max and have fun, which they seemed to do.

PS: Please learn how to quote properly as your current way of doing it is just wrong, and makes it difficult to see who said what easily.

As there's no way to reply to any of above without being rude, I shall not do so.

France next, here's hoping for a fair and entertaining race.

Well, it seems Bernie Ecclestone is getting a sort of comeuppance. The Crown Prosecution Service is charging him with fraud by misrepresentation after an investigation by HMRC into offshore assets totaling £400 million.

Haven't seen a decent French GP since it returned. Might even just watch the highlights show instead, if there are any!

Do proper F.1 fans decline to watch a live race? Anyway, lets just be nice to each other, after all, it's only sport......the great irrelevance as someone once said.
