French GP this weekend, can Lewis win his 300th?

Already at a disadvantage having had to sit out FP1 for the reserve driver to have a go, so I'd say nah, not without a miracle. Maybe a little more chance than Vettel has of winning his 300th later in the season.

Also, some out of this world headlines being touted in the media yet again!

I saw one 'Lewis Hamilton banned from French Grand Prix due to new rule', and 'Perez calls for lifetime ban on spectators'..

Also, on a related subject, at RIAT I saw plenty of Mercedes shirts and caps, a fair few McLaren and one or two Ferrari(fire-arri?), but NO red bull. Not one. Strange, but notable IMO.

Oh dear. Ferrari dropping the ball yet again!, Usual metronomical performance from Max. Nice drive!. Good performance by Lewis and great brainwork from Russell on the restart!!. Did anyone notice the poor performance from Marko after the race, pushing a nice woman out of the way so he could get to Max. Nice manners!!! Not.!!!

Well done Lewis and George, Lando not too bad either.
Ferrari are sure to come good, and nice that Leclerc took the blame for the prang.
Not at all surprised by behaviour of Marko, I'm not a fan of Red Bull team at all.

Firearri are not Good enough to fight for the championship in the modern era. Its a fact. They blew at least one championship against Mercedes and are pushing this one more and more to mad max. And Mercedes are doing a good job in picking up the pieces.
As for mental marko, can't say I saw that, nor that it comes as a surprise. These journos are just as bad giving him the air time.
Wouldn't say this race was a borefest, but I can't say this is a track I'll miss if it does get removed.

We are only half way through the season, Ferrari are certainly capable as are Mercedes, this championship is far from over..lets see what Hungary brings :thumb:
I see Horner is whinging yet again, didn't like George getting the drop on Perez :Wow:

Hungary could be much better for Mercedes. Only one long straight, so their lack of straight line speed might not be such of a disadvantage??. On the other hand, Ferrari sticks very well out of slow corners, unless the driver gives it too much wellie on the exit......... :)

Maybe, but if I recall it's not the smoothest of tracks, so the oscillating could come back to haunt them. Plus as you say, Firearri are going to have to raise the ball considerably before they are back in contention.

George Russell didn't seem too confident of the Merc's chances in Hungary during his post race interview on the Ch4 highlights program.

Can't say I blame him, he should have stuck it out with Ferrari, but there you go, hindsight is a wonderful thing, hope he enjoys whatever he plans to do..

As far as I'm aware, Ferrari bosses wanted him out, not vice versa.

As much as I disliked him in his red bull heyday, his presence at the track(no necessarily on it) these days will be sorely missed. He's one of the few drivers that actually have their heads screwed on.

But he couldn't have stuck it out with Ferrari. They got rid of him, not the other way round. In the last couple of years, he seems to have matured into a pretty nice guy. He will be missed.

If I remember correctly his contract expired and it wasn't renewed, a mutual decision I believe, whatever, he will indeed be missed.
Hopefully a good few races for him to end a great career..

Couldn't stand the guy back in his Red Bull days but he's grown on me, much like Schuey did when he returned. Sad to see him muddling around at the back now, he speaks out for some good causes and is quite funny too. It's the right time for him to go. 7th in FP2 today and a potentially wet qualy could line him up for a decent haul this weekend, I'd like to see him back on the podium before he goes.
