Re: Chelsea FC
How how long did it take Chelsea to win both of them? They are not the 1st English team to win them you know.

Re: Chelsea FC
Point is they are not the 1st English team to win the Champions League or the Premier League, I can think of 1 team that has done it well before Chelsea ever didplmc135 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 15, 2022 3:18 pmAnd your point is?Red-Eye-Knight wrote: ↑Tue Feb 15, 2022 2:40 pmHow how long did it take Chelsea to win both of them? Re: Chelsea FC
I don't think anyone was claiming they were the first? I don't really care about Football but that came across as a bit of a cope.

Re: Chelsea FC
Classic Chelsea supporter's impostor syndrome
Chelski have been a good side since the Russian's money went in but as soon as you say anything against them they jump on you.
I didn't even know they had won the world club cup or whatever it's called.

Re: Chelsea FC
A close look would reveal that there is a very high percentage of ownership of Premier League clubs by foreign investors.
A certain team from the NW of England are owned by a subsidiary of Anglian Windows, "The Double Glazers", who also own the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Not I believe the best friends of their supporters.
Roman has now owned Chelsea for nearly 20 years and one cannot say he has not been interested in the team. There will always be suspicions about the objective of Russian investments but he has definitely made us a world beating team.

Re: Chelsea FC
Thank you plcm 135.I don't understand the angst of slogen.I was born in Chelsea and supported them all of my life-through both good and bad times. No supporter can control ownership of the club,we can only hope that the investment brings success which in our case it has.Who does slogen support and how often does he go and watch his team.If they have been successfull did he think twice about how it came about?
Re: Chelsea FC
Yep I have supported them for 54 years, ever since the 1967 Cup Final loss to a North London team.
When Chelsea used the Imperial College grounds in Harlington as their training base, we used to visit regularly; somewhere I have pictures of my children with Zola, Gullit and others plus autographs. Shame the new facility at Cobham is I gather totally inaccessible.
There is a clue to the answer of your final question in my earlier post

Re: Chelsea FC
Don't worry, I forget things after 54 minutes, never mind years; the North London club was Tottenham Hotspur . No I am not a fan/follower, just helping you fill the gap

Re: Chelsea FC
I have followed Man U since I was at junior school. I have probably seen them less than 10 times!
I agree Roman has been good for Chelsea and has stuck by them. But I preferred football when you could pronounce the players names and perhaps see them in the pub / club after the match ( or before the match in some cases!)
As soon as Chelsea started winning things all you heard were chants of Wembley , Wembley !

Re: Chelsea FC
Thank you plmc 135 I first watched them in the late 50's even saw Greavsie's last game, semis in the 60's at Villa Park and every final up to now except Moscow and sadly last year's Champions league.Did manage Munich though and soon to Wembley (again).
To slogen I would say yes support your team even from a distance but why knock other supporters.

Re: Chelsea FC
Isn't that the friendly rivalry among any sports teams?

Re: Chelsea FC
You must have the rivalry
Some of my best memories watching football was with my Everton mates at Goodison - pre-match we would be in a pub near the ground that the locals called Lulus , think it was actually the Leigh arms - brilliant atmosphere and humour slagging down the Koppites ( Liverpool FC). The toilet in Lulus was Red!! So you get the picture.
Everton became my second team because in those days you could actually get hold of match tickets.
Very often we would go in for the second half!

Re: Chelsea FC
I have followed Man United since the early 80s in fact that one of my friends grandad survived the Munich Air disaster, I agree Roman has stuck by Chelsea but how did he earn all his millions? Heard loads of nasty stories about him and how he earned all his money as far as I am concerned Chelsea is tarnished club with him as owner, Same goes for Newcastle's new owners a tarnished club now.slogen51 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 17, 2022 3:37 pmI have followed Man U since I was at junior school.
