Bit heavy Gamecock its entertainment to make money. Can you name any film that doesnt have bits of or ideas from others in it.I suppose Star Wars Is all original.Imagine that fighters fighting and soldiers as well all it needs is a UFO and a bit of romance.Who would think it could happen. .Oops forgot that bit.I got bored after the first one.Son in law however loves it and has his clones into it thats how sad it is now.

Not at all. There’s some theory about how there’s only 6 different stories you can tell? There’s lots of truly original films but they don’t make any money. I get why it’s so popular on here, I just don’t get the overwhelmingly positive reviews. Considering the Star Wars sequels were panned for repeating the attack on the Death Star, or just having yet another Death Star. And of course it’s about making money, that’s fine. Just my opinion.

Among the flying fraternity, driver is a well known euphemism for 'pilot'. As in' aerial bus driver' in respect of airline pilots. Hope all is clearer now!. :)

Has anyone seen the final trailer for Top Gun Maverick?

It looks amazing cannot wait to see it link below if you want to see trailer.

https://youtu.be/giXco2jaZ_4
I've heard that a lot of the flying sequences are CGI - if that is true I'm not sure I'll bother watching it. Buti it true?
not being evolved i obviously cant say, but i know that cruise insisted on performing most of the scenes himself, and AFBs were actually used in filming.

also you discredit the film makers by calling it a visual remake

My two cents having now seen it.

SPOLIER ALERT

Yes a fair amount of CGI, but tbf I think the fifth generation fighter involved were a little busy at the time of filming, and relations with Iran are also a little sticky to enable the borrowing of a Tomcat or two.
I feel Rooster was made waaay too much like his father, the piano scene was doable, but the Hawaiian shirt as well was too much. Then there's the late twenties/early thirties chap who's father died 40 years ago..
The rest of the characters I thought were believable, and ICEMANs piece was a touching addition.
Whoever thought up the mission piece had obviously played ace combat once or twice, and clearly has no idea how NATO works, Growlers anyone...?
Overall, definitely not a classic, but more than worth a watch, especially in the cinema whilst still possible. I'd certainly go again if I get the time. 7/10.

Also interesting that they have taken a character from the first film who is mentioned by name only, "Penny Benjamin" and brought her to life in the second.

Glad I saw it on the big screen, even with all the delays. Only film I’ve been looking forward to in years, didn’t disappoint.
