Good result, much better fielding this time as well!

Shameful commentary though on Sky and BBC online live text, always doing England down and roasting Buttler's captaincy.

I've put a few quotes taken from the BBC Forum about the standard of pundits below. See what you folks think.

Quote
1. England weren't on par to rack up 500 runs in 50 overs so apparently must be below par.
The punditry for the England team is often so shoddy. England lose they're the worst side ever. England win and they're the best side in the world.

2. Sky pundits, Knight et al far too ready to write off England's 200 as 'not enough'. It was always a competitive score in spicy conditions. Everything judged via a T20 template these days.

3. Sky commentators were so negative about England while England were batting. "S Africa in total control looking at an easy run chase". Really??

4. Notice absolutely no credit to Buttler when England win…but according to some it’s completely his fault when England lose, because he’s captain…
People literally speak as if he does all the batting, fielding and bowling just because he’s captain.
Unquote

All to play for on a turner at Headingly 1100L Sunday.

Weird

Back in the day I used to enjoy watching cricket on the TV with sound down and listening to radio commentary. However now while watching today's 20/20 the radio commentary is about 15 seconds ahead of the the TV pictures! So the batsman hits the ball or is out before the ball is bowled on TV?

Bairstow 50

What a year he is having

He reminds me of a young Mike Gatting but with fewer calories.

Believe it or not, SA ranked 3rd best in the world in 2020 format. They are down a couple of big players currently, but playing us, you have to be at your very best, as we are still arguably the best 2020 team in the world.

Someone is going to get hurt in the crowd one day - these modern day players are hitting a prodigious number of huge sixes. But there is a trend developing of the low flat six off the front foot which is difficult for the field to pick up let alone someone supping a pint in the stands

Phew, that was looking a bit closer than expected for a while, but great over by Jordan.

1630L
South Africa 191-5 at the interval.
Good aggressive batting after the rain break.

England need 192 to win the series.

1800L
PATHETIC :grr: :grr: :grr:
Well done South Africa!
To think some of the tickets were £75!
