F1 2024
That time already!? Well no but...
Sprint races announced for China, Miami, Austria, Austin, Brazil and Qatar. Not the best choices IMO, as AFAIR Austria has never given us a decent sprint in all the times it's been there, Austin was a bit meh this year, as was Brazil IIRC. Not sure how they make these choices, but its clearly not for the fans.
Oh and Sargeant confirmed to be at Williams, so the grid is now unchanged for 2024-a rare feat. Assuming a 'south american' driver isn't dropped suddenly beforehand...

Re: F1 2024
It will be a great season if there is competition for Red bull, I do feel for the crews though, it's just too many races now.
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!
Re: F1 2024
I seem to recall recently that there was talk of 'Rotational Crews'. giving some time off from races on a rolling basis.
Re: F1 2024
Haas team principal Guenther Steiner has left the team (end of contract-not renewed, and not sacked according to the team statement). Replacement in Ayao Kamatsu, who some may recognise as Kimi's old race engineer from his Lotus days, and a figurehead on the Haas pitfall for a while now. Whilst something clearly had to be done behind the doors if they want to stay in the sport, I don't think letting Guenther go was the right call. And the title sponsors are said to be less than amused by the decision.
Beginning of the end or just another nail in the coffin?

Only time will tell. Not long to go now!!!
Re: F1 2024
Not sure if everyone has picked up that the first two races, Bahrain and Saudi, are on a Saturday, due to Ramadan apparently.

Looks to be 2 renamed teams this year...
Alfa Romeo (once Sauber) are now becoming - Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber
Scuderia AlphaTauri (once Torro Ross) are now allegedly changing to "Visa Cash App Racing Bulls". This isn't confirmed, but are likely to change name - https://www.express.co.uk/sport/f1-auto ... i-new-name

Catalunya to be lost as the Spanish race from 2026, with a "Hybrid" street/non-street track to take over in Madrid - https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/madri ... vpx65GDphY
Always liked the Barcelona circuit, especially going back to the "old" layout, ditching that last chicane.

Just another street circuit, with 140,000 seats. It's just money nothing else.

Not gone yet, they are still negotiating beyond 2026, Madrid does not replace Barcelona as it stands. Could have two GPs in Spain.James Cutting wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2024 10:23 amCatalunya to be lost as the Spanish race from 2026, with a "Hybrid" street/non-street track to take over in Madrid - https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/madri ... vpx65GDphY
