Looks like we are going to the polls on Thursday 4th July 2024. Politics is a very emotive subject. Please keep it Civil.

Cue a 6 week bombardment of Rubber dog muck from all sides on all forms of media :grr:

If any idiot from any party dares to knock on my door, they’ll get both barrels, verbally :grr:

As I have said before. Be very careful what you wish for!!!!. I wouldn't trust one party with a housewife's weekly budget, let alone the country's.

Wise words! My initial efforts (1964) researching for the right candidate were wrong. The voting system still doesn’t allow me to cast a vote to reflect my views.
Mind you, I did once win £10 on the Lottery so I mustn’t grumble

a lot of Stockholm syndrome for the Conservatives...

David, Teresa, Boris, Liz & Rishi weren't that bad, were they?

I watched Sir Starmer on a television interview this morning. The more I see of him, the less convinced I am that he and his party are the answer to this country's woes. All he seems to be capable of is this constant mud slinging at the Conservatives, which is getting very tiresome. He might become a bit more believable if he came up with a few policies, and told us how and where the money to achieve the turn-around was coming from. I speak as a middle-class OAP, with a wife and children etc., Being of the generation that we are, we have no worries, financial or otherwise [except the inability to get to see a doctor], but we worry about the future of the youngsters. There is, in my opinion, little doubt that things are beginning to improve, inflation down etc., But anyone who thought that the very low interest rates that we have recent memories of were going to stay that way must be very naive in the extreme. Under Sir Starmer and his party, I cannot see how he can change anything, so he will not be getting my vote. Better the devil you know....... Come on, Labour Party. Tell us your plans, or have you not got any!?

All they do, EVERY party, is slag the other one off, and briefly mention some of their false promises. There's no real glimmer of hope from any of them.

I think the Monster Raving Looney Party is probably the most sensible choice right now!

fun fact (only found this out today myself, please don't construe it as support for Lib dems)...
Lib Dems delivered 75% of their manifesto during the 2010 coalition... which is pretty much unheard of in the last 30 years... Labour had to spoil it though

So some parties actually try do what they say.

I see neither Labour or Conservative have anything at the moment to address the numerous Brexit looses ends and potential for re-negotiations...

Looks like its going to be an - immigration, housing, water and cost of living centric election.
